Campers play a variety of games, sports, and activities throughout the day. Our goal for Camp Hubbard is to provide an environment for campers to feel safe learning new activities, stay active, have fun, and make friends. The weekly theme drives different competitions, events, and games throughout the week. Campers' enthusiasm and self-confidence grows along with their abilities, knowledge, and skills.
Weekly Schedule -
Each group of campers rotates through a weekly schedule. They follow a Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday schedule, playing the same sports on those particular days, incorporating a variety of games, crafts, and activities. The campers will play the sports listed below.
Friday Fun Days -
Theme-related activities, games, and crafts will be incorporated throughout the entire week, leading up to Friday Fun Day! Fridays are theme dress up days for both staff and campers. The afternoons will be filled with big events and activities to celebrate each theme.
Lunch Information -
Camp Hubbard provides a snack for all campers every morning and pizza lunch on Fridays. Snacks are Animal crackers, Goldfish, Wheat Thins, or similar. Campers with dietary restrictions should bring an appropriate snack. Full day campers eat lunch at camp.

* Nut allergies - campers with allergies sit at a separate table. Friends are welcome to sit with them if their lunch does not contain nuts.
EVERY FRIDAY HAS A BIG THEME RELATED ACTIVITY IN THE AFTERNOON!
This is a camper favorite...Robin Hood and Katniss beware! We teach safety and shooting techniques with a bow and arrow. All ages see success ranging from getting a good launch to hitting the bulls eye.
He shoots, he scores! We provide campers with a variety of hoop sizes and age appropriate game variations. We teach dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. NBA and WNBA here we come!
A large variety of games and skills used with different balls and bats. Fundamentals of throwing, catching, and hitting are taught to enhance the love of our national pastime. Special focus during America's Pastime week.
Creative, fun ways to keep the campers happy and social, while allowing their bodies to enjoy an active rest. We have theme related crafts, board games, and a variety of quiet games.
We play kickball, dodge ball, tag variations, capture the flag, football, four square, home run derby, and a huge variety of other camp favorites from Play Works. New games every week!
GOOAAALLLLLL!!! Dribbling, passing, and shooting are introduced and enhanced. Skills are learned every week and highlighted during World Cup Week!
A new sport to many campers but so much fun. We teach bumping, passing, and hitting the ball over the net. We want all kids to crush the sand volleyball courts one day.
2020 Update: City Pools are NOT opening. Swim will offered at the Paradise Valley location only. Afternoon free swim is offered at all camp locations Monday-Thursday, except during the first week of camp when the city pools are closed. There will be Lifeguard Certified Hubbard staff on deck during swim time observing our campers even when city lifeguards are also on duty. Additional Hubbard staff will be in the water watching the campers.
Each location administers a swim test. Campers must swim the width (about 20 yards) of the pool independently. Campers who do not pass the swim test are provided with and required to wear a life vest (US Coast Guard approved). All pools do have a shallow end.
“Both kids loved the variety of activities and the chance to make new friends. My daughter really enjoyed the athletics - she found her confidence in sports finally!”
