Frequently Asked Questions

  • Ages 4.5 – 14
Campers are grouped by age and stay with their groups for sports and activities throughout the day.

Small group ratios help us foster an inclusive environment built on safety and success.
Group sizes are at a ratio of 1 counselor per 10-12 campers.

Groups are named after local sports teams, and the campers love representing their groups!

We will do our best to honor all friend requests. Friend requests can be submitted with camper registration or emailed to us at info@camphubbardaz.com.  If the children vary in age, they may be moved to the younger age group. This is common with sibling requests.
*In order for us to match requests, the names must exactly match the friend's registration form.

  • It is hot in AZ, and we completely understand the need to keep campers hydrated and cool!

The campers have fun playing inside and outside throughout the day. We love our facilities! Each location allows us to use its indoor gym, classrooms, and cafeteria. In these spaces, the kids have a great time playing sports and games inside! If an activity, like archery or water slides, requires being outside, the staff is very aware and attentive to the camper's needs.

  • Campers will have an opportunity to enjoy free swim on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

The campers walk through the Sunnyslope campus and enter the pool area as a group.

Our staff helps administer the city swim test to campers who wish to swim without a life vest. Campers must swim the width (about 20 yards) of the pool independently. Campers who do not pass the swim test will be given a life vest (US Coast Guard approved) to wear while swimming. The pool does have a shallow pool for the less advanced swimmers.

Hubbard staff will be on deck and in the water with the campers.

City Lifeguards guard the pool at all times.

  • At Camp Hubbard, we believe that summer is the time to spend unplugged! With that philosophy, we will not allow campers to be on their phones during camp.

We also acknowledge that cell phones are necessary for some family situations. Therefore, if phones are brought onto campus, they will be turned over to the Camp Director, who will keep them stored for the entirety of the day.

If parents need to get in touch with their campers, they can call our camp phones, which connect to the director on site. Camp phone numbers are on the “Contact Us” page, listed by location.

  • Every day at camp will be Kiss & Go drop-off and pick-up for both full-day and half-day campers.

    Drop-off is between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m.

Pick-up for half-day campers is at noon and 3:30 p.m. for full-day campers.

*Please bring a sign to display on your windshield with your camper's name(s) written on it. Our staff will direct you through the pickup process.

Parents will call the on-site camp phone if needing to pick-up or drop-off a camper outside the designated Kiss & Go times. Staff members will meet the parent outside to hand off the camper.

  • Camp Hubbard does not stock any over-the-counter medications.

The camper Medical Form is filled out at the time of registration. Should you need to add any additional medications after registration, please fill out this Medication Permission Form and bring it with your camper on the first day of attending.

If your child needs medication administered during the day, you must provide the medication in the original prescription packaging. If the medication comes in pill form, only the anticipated amount for the week should be sent to camp.

Medications must be given to the Camp Director and will be stored in a secured area, administered by trained staff at the appropriate time, with documentation of administration.

Rescue medications (Epi-pens, inhalers) can be kept in camper possession as long as their proper use has been denoted on the camper Medical Form.

All medications will be sent home at the end of each week.

  • Half-day campers may opt to move to full-day during the week or on specific days if space is available. Reminder to bring lunch Monday through Thursday! Email us at info@camphubbardaz.com or tell the camp director in the morning when you check-in. We will charge your card on file. The additional charge is $14 a day.

  • If your camper has already attended a full week of camp this summer, he/she qualifies for single-day registration. We require a week of prior attendance because we want campers to be comfortable in the camp environment and familiar with the staff and schedule.

Single-day registrations can only attend for the full day. Space is limited.

    Sibling discounts do not apply.

    Full Day - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - $110.

  • On Monday or Tuesday of the first week that your camper attends camp, he/she will receive a Camp Hubbard T-shirt. We will do our best to give out the most appropriate size for your camper based on the size indicated on their registration form.

Every Wednesday is wear your camp T-shirt day!

  • Is your child missing something? Odds are we have it in our lost and found. Feel free to email in, and we can attempt to track down your camper's item. We accumulate lots of water bottles, clothing items, and towels. Anything with your camper's name on it has a better chance of being located.

  • Let's hear from some fellow parents about their experience with Camp Hubbard:

The staff is great and super friendly, and at the end of the day, the kids had a great time! They are so excited to talk about their days.

My son has loved learning basketball and soccer and participating in water days. He has made many friends and really likes his coaches as well!

My kids loved the positive counselors and the variety of activities. As parents, we love the convenient drop-off and pick-up.

The program is run very well and the counselors actually seem to enjoy what they're doing. You hired well! We have been to many "camps" if you will, and they are just glorified babysitters. This was our first year at Hubbard and I felt comfortable leaving my son every day!

  • At Camp Hubbard, our staff wants to provide the best experience for all campers as they learn to be active and playground-ready. However, right now, we may not be the right fit for every child. Please email us so we can schedule a phone call to discuss your camper's needs and outline our camp environment.

We welcome your camper to attend with a 1:1 aide if your child would benefit from individualized support.
